Self-care

Self-care is individual health maintenance. It is any action of an individual, family or community, with the purpose of improving or restoring health, or take care of or preventing disease.

Self-care contains all health decisions people (as persons or consumers) build for themselves and their families to acquire and stay physically and mentally fit. Self-care is exercising to keep physical fitness. It is moreover eating well, self-medicating, and working good hygiene to treat, manage or prevent disease. Self-care is stay away from health hazards such as smoking, and managing one’s own health after release from tertiary health care.

Self care has essential enabling value and unlimited space in developing countries with an overburdened health care system.
